How to speed up Android phone

Today a quick and easy trick to speed up an Android phone.

Android phone users, myself among them, can notice that the performance of their phone gradually decreases during the months after the purchase. No matter how advanced the phone is, after a few months, opening apps and multitasking take a bit more time than before. There are several reasons for this to happen, the most obvious is an increased number of apps running in the background and consuming valuable resources.

Perhaps the best advice to speed up an Android phone is to limit the number of apps installed and have only apps that we need and frequently use. But sometimes even if we follow this advice, the phone is still sluggish.

Luckily there is an easy trick we can do to improve the performance of the phone. Android phones show fancy animations when opening, closing and switching between the apps, and we can turn them off and improve performance. Here is my short guide on how to do it.

How to make Android phone run faster

First, we need to activate Developer options to access these options. To have developer options are enabled go to Settings > System > About phone. At the bottom, you should see Build number. Tap it seven times to enable Developer options.

Once these options have been enabled, you fill find a new menu item Developer options. It is located in Settings > System > (Developer options). Tap once to display available options.

Developer options

There are quite a few options available and you can study them in details later. But we are interested in speeding up your phone so scroll down until you see Drawing group. Among options, you should see: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale.

Android animation options

Go to each of these animations (Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale) and choose option Animation off.

Attention: a number of users may experience some glitches when using some applications. If this happens to you, go back to Developer options and change setting again from Animation off to Animation scale .5x

That is all. Once you turned off the animation completely or slowed them down to .5x you should notice improved performance when using apps on your phone.

I hope you have found this useful and now your Android phone runs a bit faster 🙂 Please let me know in the comments below if you have any question regarding this topic.
