How to disable Easy Capture Manager

Easy Capture Manager is a small program installed on you PC together with your Samsung printer software. If I am honest, it is a bit annoying as it switches on automatically every time I press Prt + Sc key on the keyboard. Judging from all the comments between my Youtube video I am not the only one who had this problem.

As far as I know you cannot delete Samsung Easy Printer Manager without deleting the whole program that you need for your printer. However, there is a very easy way to disable it 🙂

Here is my short online tutorial that will allow you to stop Easy Capture Manager from activation. Please follow there 3 easy steps:

#1 Press Prt Scr

First press Prt Scr key on your keyboard. The key is usually located to the right from F12 key. Of course, Easy Capture Manager will start. So annoying 🙂

Press Print Screen key on your keyboard

#2 Take a screenshot

With Easy Capture Manager activated, press left key on your mouse, move the cursor and release the key. By doing so you will create a screenshot from part of your screen and also you will open the whole program.

Take a screenshot

#3 Turn off easy capture manager

Find the Option icon in the Menu (it’s the one with a gear symbol) and click on it. A small window will pop out with three options. You can change the keys sequence for triggering program to Ctr + Prt Sc or disable it completely by marking “None”. Confirm your choice by clicking OK and close the program. That’s all, now if you press Prt Sc Easy Capture Manager should not start 🙂

Disable Easy Capture Manager

I hope you have found this useful and now know how to quickly turn off Easy Capture Manager. For those who prefer to see this tutorial in video format, please have a look:

  2. Hello Pawel!
Thousands thanks (in Germany say the people it so when they are happy) for this Fix! I was confused after the driver-install for Samsung-Printer, I don’t like to use the Easy Capture Manager.

Best regards from Berlin to you and excuse me for my bad english.

    1. Hi Chris, great you’ve sorted out your Easy Capture Manager 🙂

  5. Thank you SO much. This annoyance was driving me sick.
I fixed it following your instructions.

But I keep wondering: How can they even think of (by default) forcing such a thing upon the buyers of this Samsung Printer and not think it will be a real annoyance to most people?

Where are Samsung’s brain and heart regarding this?

  6. Thank you so much Pawel.. It really helped..

  7. Thank you

  8. Brilliant, this works perfectly, thanks Pawel!

  9. Worked perfect weel. That thing was so annoying.
    Thanks a Million

  16. Wowwwwwwwww.
    what a good riddance.
It was so irritating. Yes, I got it with samsung driver,
    The trick worked like magic.
Thank you sooooo much. God bless you.

  17. Thank you Pawel.
It’s the second time it happened to me, as I had installed Samsung easy printer manager on another computer. But now I knew what to look for. A very annoying program, and Samsung don’t even ask I I would like to have it installed.

  18. Wow! Thank you! I didn’t even tried to make screenshot and get to ECM’s interface.

  19. Great. How do you re-enable it?

    1. Hi Tom, thanks for your question. Why on Earth would you do it? 🙂
OK, I presume you are on Windows. First, start Easy Printer Manager and check System tray (you need to click on the small arrow in the right-bottom of the screen to display it). Can you see Easy Printer Manager icon there? Right-click on it and it should display a small menu with Easy Capture Manager in it (if it is not there, go back to Easy Printer Manager, click gear icon with options and mark the tickbox for it).
Click this icon and at this point, you should have launched Easy Capture manager. Take a screenshot as described in the tutorial by clicking, moving the mouse and releasing. Once you do it, the program should open and you will have access to its Setting.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you need further guidance.

      1. I start the “Easy Printer Manager”… but it freezes. How to get rid of Easy Capture Manager and especially “Easy Printer Manager”? I mean: how to prevent it from autoloading at startup === FREEZING my Taskbar?
        Thanx. 🙂

        1. Hi Filip, thanks for your question. If you are on Windows, try to delete it from Control Panel/Programs and Features. You can also click Windows icon in left-bottom corner and start typing ‘programs’ – there should be icon visible Add/Remove programs. I am not sure if you will find Easy Printer Manager or Easy Capture Manager there. If so, just delete them. Your printer should still work, perhaps it will need a generic Windows driver. If this doesn’t work, press Windows key and R at the same time, a small window will appear, type msconfig there to access programs that start together with Windows. Perhaps it is possible to deactivate the programs there.
I am not sure if this will help you, please let me know if not and I will have a closer look.

  20. A very useful tip. Thanks.

    1. Thanks Baz.

  21. Many thanks for great tip! Thanks

  22. Thanks Pawel
This annoying thing kept popping up whenever I tried to use Greenshot (Screen capture app,) so I thought I’d try it out despite not asking for it or wanting it. I clicked the “Capture Screen” icon only to find that the image I’d carefully adjusted to take up the entire window immediately became 25% (or so) bigger. Huh?? A screen capture app that enlarges the image?
Thankyou for showing me how to get rid of this useless piece of junk.

  23. And many thanks from me, too 🙂

  24. Thank you! Annoying program!

  25. Brilliant! This worked for me instantly. I hate that bloody thing. I do a lot of graphics for our business. And I take a lot of screen shots. So this thing is always creating another step in the processes of my work.

  26. Who uses that stupid thing anyway?
Waste of time. I dont know anyone that uses it.

  27. Thank God for search engines that bring us to relevant answers to our questions. I feel smarter now. Thanks so very much for your article!!! Ben

  28. awesome. it worked. thank you

  29. Such an irritating thing .. thank you for this!

  30. Muchas Gracias Pawel, Bendiciones en Cristo Jesús!!! Gracias

  31. Sadly, this does not actually remove it.I don’t even want. it on my machine! Do you happen to know the name of the actual executable.?

  32. Thanks a lot, I did´t know it was part of the Samsung printer software.
Another very big issue with the Samsung software is the fact that the Scan option on my printer is disabled. Apparently because this Samsung software is not compatible with Office 10. Any clue to get the scan feature working?
Samsung blames Microsoft and Microsoft blames Samsung.

  33. Thank you so much for this simple ‘fix’ to get rid of this bloody annoying ‘feature’.

I can understand Samsung offering it, I can even understand Samsung installing it by default but what I can’t understand is that there is no obvious way to turn the damn thing off!

  34. It worked! Thank you very much 🙂

    1. Great news Rochle! I’m glad you managed to sort out this Easy Capture Manager 🙂
